Lighting

moodboard.

Shapes.

For shapes, I like these stacked segment lights. We can make the shape from woven material and duplicate the segments on top of each other to give form and added dimension.

Image 1: I like here that the outside lamp shade is one texture and then on the inside of the lamp you have layered rings of another woven texture that captures the light and creates more visual dimension.

Colour.

I know colour might not be something you want to focus on right now but I think it could be really good to dive into as it will differentiate yourself in the market. Gradients but also bold colours are really in right now and would be good to keep up with that trend by dying the natural material.

I would love to come over and experiment with this. But I was thinking of maybe dying the drum lamp and also keeping the wood above it in the same color, so all monochromatic.

Wall lights.

A big design trend this year is sculptural wall art. What if we could make wooden wall lights? Maybe with leftover wood pieces? I think the contrast of using wood as a light is a nice idea to add than just woven lamp shades.

With these simple circular wood lights maybe we can chisel the wood to give this dimpled texture, which will catch the lighting with a contrast effect.

Standing lights.

I think it would be very interesting to have a light that can be adjusted to fit in three different spots. Wall light, floor light, and hanging pendant.

Another idea is to have a standing light all woven in one texture, the chunky design is in. We can make the whole light in one woven texture. I am a fan of this woven texture if it runs up the lamp as it gives a striped look. Stripes are also really big this year.

I would love to come over and experiment with this. But I was thinking of maybe dying the drum lamp and also keeping the wood above it in the same color, so all monochromatic.

Extras.

I was thinking that sometimes wall light electrical cables dont look so great so what if we could wrap woven material around the cord so it looks more attractive.

I would love to come over and experiment with this. But I was thinking of maybe dying the drum lamp and also keeping the wood above it in the same color, so all monochromatic.
